How to enable Peripheral mode for Bluetooth LE audio installed on your desktop using the nrf connection app on your desktop (desktop version)

How to enable Peripheral mode for Bluetooth LE audio installed on your desktop using the nrf connection app on your desktop (desktop version)

Purpose: How to set the BLE audio module installed on the desktop to Peripheral mode.

I already know about Peripheral mode of BLE Audio on mobile using mobile app.

Below is an example of how to use Peripheral mode with a mobile app.
nRF Connect App (Mobile App) - Advertiser - Connectable (Option) - Enable Advertiser behavior

However, in the case of desktop nrf connect, I do not know how to connect.

I want to activate the installed BLE Audio on the desktop in Peripheral mode using nRF Connect on the desktop.

The nrf connect mobile app can control the BLE installed on the mobile, but the nrf connect desktop app cannot control the BLE installed on the desktop and appears to be able to connect external BLE KIT such as USB and UART.

As with the mobile example, if there is a way to do it on a desktop, please explain.

  • Hi,

You could Set up advertising on nRF Connect on the desktop, but the nRF Connect on the desktop doesn't have/support the BLE audio module. The nRF connect desktop app helps set up an nRF device (not the desktop), connect it to advertising devices, and discover their services. It only supports the following

    • PCA10056 nRF52840 Development Kit
    • PCA10040 nRF52 Development Kit
    • PCA10059 nRF52840 Dongle
    • PCA10028 nRF51 Development Kit
    • PCA10031 nRF51 Dongle

The above devices cannot support nRF Audio.

    Regards,
    Amanda H.
