What nPM to select and why? (nRF9161 and nRF52840 design

We are working on a redsign of a product and are looking into useing one of the nPM chips for power management.

Other Nordic chips are nRF52840 and nRF9161. The nRF9161 is the master of the system and I would prefer to have control there but the nRF52 can also be the master over the power management parts of the system.

What part should I select and why? (thinking mainly of the nPM1300 and the nPM6001).
