Always "The build configuration is stale. Run a pristine build" in newer versions of nrf connect for vs code

hi!

I get the message "The build configuration is stale. Run a pristine build" even after rebuilding in all versions of nrf connect for vs code after 2023.7.129.

I have tried to remove the workspace and start over but the problem is still there.

I also tried the 2024.5.37 pre-release version to see if the problem is still there.

I tested create a new application based on the "hello world" sample with the same result.

As soon as I switch back to 2023.7.129 the source folder/files show up as expected.

You can delete the build folder from the application and can pristine build again.

(And have tried it again and it didn't help)

Can you also generate support information and upload it here? Open command palette (ctrl+shift+p or View > Command Palette) and write nRF Connect: Generate support information. When you select this the information should be generated in the output terminal windows. Then I can show this to our developer.

Yes, I created one running the version and one with the newest version and created a zip with them.

I got feedback from team. Could you please check how the toolchain setting ended up in the configuration?

This ${nrf-connect.toolchain:2.6.20240304} seems an invalid version.

We don't think we have version like this.
