Replacing the old Infocentre:
It's dreadful!
I cannot see any benefit at all.
The SDK Documnetation page does not scale well:
Note the vast amount of wasted whitespace on the left, and yet the 'View' and 'Download' links have wrapped and are no longer under their titles - even though it looks like there is plenty of room.
Also, it makes no sense to me to have older versions in a hierarchy under the current version:
oh, and look at that: the links for the older versions are properly aligned!!
The new Nordic Documentation Library, IMO is a huge improvement (Firefox browser).
It is much flatter and easier to find specific documents - like product specifications and their errata - they are nicely laid out. The old infocenter had broken web links down in the documentation. This looks like a huge improvement.
I used the old infocenter daily to deal with the SD API. I gently disagree. This new format looks beautiful but I'm lost.
Hi Howard,
please let me know in particular what it is you have problems with?BR;
Eivind
Hi Eivind, as an immediate need I found this page https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF5_SDK/nRF51_SDK_v4.x.x/doc/html/group__nrf51__module.html for nrf51 but can't find the equivalent page for nrf52. Can you help me out please?
With that I think I'm back to essentially a prettier version of the old layout that I preferred.
While you're here, a story. A long time ago a suitcase company aired a TV advertisement where they put their new hard-sided suitcases into a chimpanzee cage and the chimps tossed the suitcases all around, as chimps will do with anything new that you put into their cage. The suitcase manufacturer was making a point about durability but I see it as a point about novelty and what happens when such drastic changes are introduced. Expect to get it tossed around.
Coincidentally I came in Sunday and found my cow-worker nuked about a month's worth of work I'd done in support of a new LCD driver so I think I have to go toss some LCD driver code around the cage a bit :-)
Thanks, Howard
