AHaug uninstalling and reinstall from within VS Code seems to have fixed the issue.

Edit: Have you attempted the good old "uninstall the extension, restart VS Code and install the extension"? If not, could you report back the results after testing that?

I will ask the extension team if they've observed this before with the v1.78 of VS Code or if it might be a macOS related issue. I will get back to you when I get an answer from them

Hi,

Could you answer the following questions and test the suggestion below so I can relay this to the extension team if it is a bug:

Which version of VSCode are you running?
Which OS are you running on your computer

I don't observe this on Windows 11, VSCode version 1.77.3. Here I'm running v2023.4.179 of the nRF Connect for VS Code extension. If you're not running this version of VSCode, could you update and see if the issue resolves itself?
