I had the same problems. I even tried to port my code to v2.5.2 but BLE application still stopped working somewhere after 12/24 hours. I am using Thingy91. After I lowered the baud rate as you have suggested the BLE application is running stable now for a couple of days, let's see.

i'm having the same issue, basically the same as he is, using the same examples. also using v2.3.0 of the board.

a slight difference is that i see the errors while transferring sensor data, if i run lte_lc_init before doing the bluetooth scan. not sure why that would be.

with lte_lc running i am able to get rid of this error by adjusting the baud rate from 1000000 to 115200 in the board overlays for both the nrf52 and nrf91.

Hello Niels,

Thank you for your patience. I am sorry that I could not replicate the issue you are having.

I started with programming both the nrf52840 and nrf9160 on the nrf9160dk by loading simple programs.
I could see the correct functionality when pressing reset button.

Next, I used HCI LP UART Sample (/sample/bluetooth/hci_lpuart) and built it for NRF52840 chip on the NRF9160DK (by selecting target board nrf9160dk_nrf52840) and putting SW10 into nrf52 position.

I could see reset button working normal and no error shown. I could reset 9160 and 52840 (depending upon the position of SW10).

Next, I tried to use your code and configurations you have provided, but the code is not compiling. Maybe I am missing something.

Could you please provide minimal sample project that is compiling and could be used to replicate problem.
Also, it will be great if you could describe a bit more about how you are testing.

I am using the nRF Connect for Mobile app on Android to advertise.

The Random generated UUID is part of the advertising data.
