Hi,

The Matter team has some observations:

The logs from the DK would be valuable, because for now we see what's going on only on one side of the communication.
Instead of following https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/1.7.0/matter/openthread_border_router_pi.html, which you linked, you should follow https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/2.4.0/nrf/protocols/thread/tools.html#thread-border-router

Could you try that and report back after you've followed that guide?
Looking at the logs, it looks like CHIP Tool controller requested our DK to join the Thread network (Performing next commissioning step 'ThreadNetworkEnable') and after that it didn't get response. Our DK should respond over Bluetooth LE once it joined the Thread network, so I would assume it didn't happen.

Could you verify that the Thread dataset used for the setup are correct?
Could you verify that you are using OpenThread Border Router and RCP versions recommended for NCS v2.4.0? Versions are listed in the guide I mentioned

Hey Andreas ,

I also tried in Linux Chip-Tool (Version: 2.4.0) and I got same error.

I followed below links for creating Chip-Tool in Android in Matter Over thread Setup.

Setup OpenThread Border Router on Raspberry Pi — Matter documentation (nordicsemi.com)

Then from above click next then you also can see all steps of OTBR, RCP Joiner and Chip-Tool in Android Setup.

When revisiting this case today I noticed that you were using Chip-tool for Android. The Chiptool for Android is not supperted. It is only supported for Linux and MacOS. Please revisit https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/nrf/protocols/matter/getting_started/testing/index.html to see how to set it up for Linux or MacOS

Yes, AHaug I am already gone through the Links that you provided.

I am using NRF52840 DK as a Matter Light Bulb and Matter Switch.

1. We are using NCS Version 2.4.0

2. We are using existing NCS Samples without Modification and try on Matter Light bulb and Matter Light Switch Code.

3. We are using Chip--Tool (Version: 2.4.0) in Mobile Phone (OnePlus - Oxygen OS, Android Version 12).

4. We are using RaspberryPI-4B and NRF52840 Dongle as a Open Thread Border Router.

Could you state if you've seen and followed the documentation at https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/2.4.0/nrf/protocols/matter/getting_started/testing/index.html and seen the webinar at www.youtube.com/watch

I need to know more about your setup before I can look into this. Can you describe your entire setup?

Which version of NCS are you using?
Which devices are you building for and revisions
What controller are you using?
1. Is it a phone? Which phone? Which OS?
What are you using as a boarder router?
Are you using any existing NCS samples on the devices? If so which?
1. If it is a modified NCS sample, which modifications have you done?
