Hi Jose,

Did you try storing all the SDK files in the location C:/ncs/v2.4.0 and then try the west update in there? Please do try this and let me know how it goes.

Automatic installation may be the way, but I followed the all steps by the letter (both, auto and manual)
At the company we have two high speed connections, the back up kicks in when the other goes down.
I did try the west update from that folder several times.

Don't worry, just close the case... I will try solething else

Hi Jose,

It's always best to have an automatic installation. Probably the issue of not downloading the SDK was caused because of a slow or unstable internet connection or maybe some GitHub issues.

Also, you need the SDK files in the location C:/ncs/v2.4.0. But in your case, the SDK files have been installed directly into C:/ncs and this can cause issues later on, as the .west file can be hidden anywhere in there.

It would be great if you could install them into C:/ncs/v2.4.0. Also, the errors that you see are because of an incomplete installation, so now if you go to the SDK folder and open a terminal and try west update, it should be fixed.

I had no errors to troubleshoot, and that was the problem
Nrf toolchain it will begin downloading the SDK, but then it will not create and download the SDK folder.

I am looking into this. In the meantime, could you tell me why your automatic installation of nRF Connect SDK failed? Did any error show up?

Hi Jose,

It shows here that your folder "blinky" has been created in this location:

Could you maybe try creating it under a folder, say VScode, under C://ncs, because this is the path where your toolchains etc are located. For eg, I have all the VSCode projects created in the following location on my PC:

I also noticed that "kconfig" on VScode can't find python3
I gave the path to executable "kconfig.python", gave the path to "...AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python37\python.exe"
But it does not find it, it is clearly there.... it also on my enviromental vars

Originaly, while using nRF conenct, the SDK will start downloading, then it will have a single empty folder.
It seems that it was failing to download the files from github I think.
I tried what you said, intelisense no longer gives errors "problem tab", but on the terminal tab

I can't compile at the moment, I have:

Failure code 2
-DNCS_TOOLCHAIN_VERSION:STRING="NONE"
West build "invalid choice" (it does not recognice build)

Any more ideas?

Hi Jose,

For the squiggles error, you just right click on it and "Disable all error squiggles". And then try again.

Also what problems did you face when installing automatically?
