We have not tested this, since the nPM1300 is meant to supplied by an AC wall adapter or a USB port. CC1 and CC2 needs to be connected since they will be used for USB port detection. I wouldn't recommend it, since it's outside it's intended use case, but a possibility might be to connect the CC1 and CC2 pins to the MCUs GPIOs to emulate the CC1 and CC2.

If you have any more questions, then please create a new ticket.
Hi,

- It is possible to download the nPM1300 datasheet as a PDF file instead of viewing it online?

nPM1300_OPS_v0.7.pdf
Thanks:

Regarding the other questions, by checking the documentation, I can see that:

- VBUS maximum input is 22V

- But if a VBUS goes over 5.5V a overvoltage protection is enabled.

- Negociation is only for current from 100mA to 500mA, and it makes sense it is for a 5V input.

Anyway, thanks for your help.

RE: Some questions regarding the PMIC nPM1300

Hi,
- It is possible to download the nPM1300 datasheet as a PDF file instead of viewing it online?
devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../nPM1300_5F00_OPS_5F00_v0.7.pdf
Regarding VBUS and VBUSOUT pins: Its this just a pass through or is something else between these two pins?

On other words, with fast chargers able to provide more than 5V, is VBUSOUT over 5V also?
VBUSOUT has the same absolute maximum ratings as VBUS namely -0V3 to 5V5, it meant as a pass through for delivering VBUS to board controller.
- In following up, does the nPM1300 negociates a higher input voltage than 5V?
I'm not sure what you mean by this, but the absolute maximum ratings for the nPM1300 is stated here, and the recommended operating conditions are stated here.
- It is a bit unclear to me if VSYS follows VBUS voltage or not.
VSYS follows VBUS as long as VBUS is connected and within VBUSOVP and VBUSMIN.
For connecting other power source, such as a solar panel, VBUS will still be the main power input pin?
Yes, VBUS will still be the input pin for the PMIC,
Lipo protection must be external, right?
The battery should have some innate protection mechanism, but the nPIM1300 has a mechanism such as charge current limit and battery temperature monitor,
- And finally I'm evaluating using a complete module such as those provided by uBlox or Fanstel. No issues with these, right :) ?
Complete module meaning that it has BLE + PMIC? Fanstel and µBlox should be fine,
