I have been working with nRF9160-DK for an IoT project for a year or so. Recently a need to capture images using the nRF9610 arises.
I have searched this forum and Internet in general and found only some discussions about using ov2640 and ov7725

RE: recommended a camera module to work nRF9160-DK

Hi, Helmut,

Thanks for the quick response. I will look into the SPI camera module option.

RE: recommended a camera module to work nRF9160-DK

Hello,

Zephyr has in-tree support for the following image sensors (found under zephyr/drivers/video):

MT9M114

OV2640

OV7725

Reference: https://github.com/zephyrproject-rtos/zephyr/tree/main/drivers/video

There is an existing example for the MT9M114 (although this uses CSI, not SPI):

github.com/.../capture

I hope this helps,

Helmut Lord

EDIT: your best option to interface with the nRF9160 may be to use a SPI camera module. Many are available on sites like WaveShare, Amazon.
