I found the solution !

My udev rules where not set correctly, i had to download this and now everything is working perfectly!

Is it not recognized even when you put the device in bootloader mode? Is it being recognized by the PC?

The firmware was extracted to my /home/user path,i tried again with the firmware extracted to my "user/ncs" directory but still haven't been able to flash my thingy:91.

I also noticed that the devices is not recognized by the app, is it normal ?

Hi,

Where did you extract the downloaded zip file of the firmware? Could you try changing the location to where you have the sdk path, say, c:/ncs ?

Hi,

Thanks for your answer, i'm using the .hex file of the archives that i unzipped as stated in the getting started guide.

I tried again today but ended up with either the same error or the programmer app not responding.

I tried following this issue because i had the programmer app telling me it couldn't find Jlink and knew it was due to me running manjaro linux. It has fixed the Jlink warning messages but not my issues.

Hi,

For updating the firmware in nRF9160, did you try using the zip file instead of the hex? Please take a look at this section in the getting started guide.
