&lt;p&gt;I added the required certificates and added the configs in overlay-tls.conf of the htttps_client sample but I was still getting errors.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;My connect(... ) function kept returning error 22 or I would get a usage fault, sometimes both:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It wasn&amp;#39;t until I changed my prj.conf to the one referenced in this &lt;a href="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/100826/nrf7002dk-and-tls-sockets--7100-error/433368"&gt;thread &lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;in ovrebekk&amp;#39;s reply that I was able to resolve my issues.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Below is my overlay-tls.conf/prj.conf before the error and after is was resolved.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;At first it would only work if peer_verification was off. It wasn&amp;#39;t until the correct certificate (cross-signed starfield services root ca from the link you provided) was referenced that I was able to have peer_verification working.&lt;/p&gt;

If you haven&amp;#39;t already, you must add the configs in&lt;em&gt; overlay-tls.conf&lt;/em&gt; in the sample folder to your project configuration.&lt;/p&gt;
