&lt;p&gt;Correct, if you go to Project -&amp;gt; Loader -&amp;gt; Additional Load File [0] the SoftDevice .hex file is added there in our standard example projects including the SoftDevice.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;If this is set to none the SoftDevice won&amp;#39;t be flashed either.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;In SES, the SoftDevice is added as an additional .hex file to be flashed when you program a board using the SoftDevice so you don&amp;#39;t have to manually choose the SoftDevice in order to flash the target device as well as the application that depends on it. This can be removed from the Project Options in SES. Let me know if you can&amp;#39;t find where this is done, and I&amp;#39;ll get back to you on Monday when I have a computer with SES at hand. I believe it&amp;#39;s called &amp;quot;additional load files&amp;quot; or something similar.&lt;/p&gt;
