Hi,

I completely agree with you. You cannot be very confident, but you are still free to test it if you want. Just keep in mind that nRF tools are fully tested and working on Windows 10.

Thanks. I understand. It just doesn't give a Windows 11 user much confidence when the documentation states " The nRF Connect SDK tools are supported by design but are not built or tested after each change. Therefore, the application may or may not work."

Hi,

As it is stated in the documentation, tools are supported by design for Windows 11, but not everything is thoroughly tested as for Windows 10. If you can choose then your obvious choice would be to use Windows 10.

Thanks for your response. So according to the requirements, it may not even work with Windows 11, which is what I'm planning on using?

Hi,

There are requirements on the operating systems to be able to use nRF Connect SDK tools. Windows 7 is not supported. I would recommend you that you upgrade your OS to a newer version. Alternatively, you could try using another computer which has supported operating system.

I get the same exact error when trying to run any of the apps in nRF Connect.

I'm also running nRF Connect for Desktop v4.1.2 on Windows 7. Older versions of nRF Connect have worked for me in the past on this machine.

Hi,

I could not reproduce your issue with the same versions of nRF Connect for Desktop and Toolchain Manager.

Do you maybe have an antivirus program which could potentially quarantine dll file which is shown in the error message you provided?

If you are sure that the problem is not related to antivirus software or if you do not have one, could you then please try reinstalling nRF Connect for Desktop application?

I get the same error message just by starting the toolchain manager 1.2.5. After clicking OK on the messagebox the toolchain manager just displays a blank page with loading animation.

Which version of the nRF Connect SDK are you trying to install from Toolchain Manager?
