Hi,

At the headset side I would expect to see something like "Broadcast source NRF5340_BROADCASTER found". It seems this is missing from your log.

Below are the configuration option which you could try in NCS v2.4.1.

CONFIG_AUDIO_SOURCE_I2S=y
CONFIG_TRANSPORT_BIS=y
CONFIG_BT_AUDIO_BITRATE_BROADCAST_SRC=124000

Also, the cut part on the headset log was just some garbage from UART, i cropped it from when zephyr OS boots.

Hi,

There is no further information beyond "scanning for broadcast sources" on the headset and for the gateway, it indefinitely keeps printing the ISO RX stats so what I provided is all of the useful information I guess.

Is there anything in particular in the logs that you feel is missing?

There seemed that some information was missing from your previous headset log. You could just provide the logs as before ensuring that they are not cut or partial.

How do I retrieve the "full" log? Right now I have set the log levels to debug and shared with you what was returned on the uart log.

Hi,

Log shows that there is a difference between controller versions on your headset (v3322) and gateway device (v3349). Could you try using the same controller v3349?

Hi,

I tested with NCS v2.4.1, and it's the same behavior. Unable to find the broadcaster for bitrate 124000.

Not sure if there's anything on the UART logs, the receiver just keeps scanning for broadcast sources:

Similarly, no errors on the broadcaster either.

Are there any other logs that can be retrieved?

We have tested on our side with NCS v2.4.1 and it worked as expected. Could you try with the same NCS version?

If it does not work for you, please provide a full log so that we could get more information from it.

Hi Dejan,

Yes, I used the wrong terminology, what I meant was that the receiver is unable to find the broadcaster while scanning.

I tried what you mentioned, but apparently CONFIG_LC3_BITRATE is not user configurable, it just picks it up from whatever is set by CONFIG_BT_AUDIO_BITRATE_BROADCAST_SRC.

While tinkering further with this, I found that after building, CONFIG_LC3_BITRATE gets updated correctly to 124000 for dev_gateway, but not for dev_headset. The headset defaults to 96000 regardless of what is set by CONFIG_BT_AUDIO_BITRATE_BROADCAST_SRC.

I added:

config LC3_BITRATE
int
default BT_AUDIO_BITRATE_BROADCAST_SRC

After line 46 in /src/audio/Kconfig.defaults and this fixed that problem, now the headset also gets the correct LC3 Bitrate.

(Never mind, the headset picks up the LC3 bitrate from the BIGInfo of the gateway it is connected to, so doesn't need to be explicitly configured.)

However, the main issue still persists, which is that the receiver does not find the broadcaster while scanning. Maybe there is some issue during the adv parsing for SDU size 155?

Hi,

As you use broadcast, there would be no pairing involved. Currently, supported values for CONFIG_BT_AUDIO_BITRATE_BROADCAST_SRC are limited in software to a range from 32000 to 124000. For setting the value to 124000, you would probably need to include additional configuration options:

CONFIG_BT_AUDIO_BITRATE_BROADCAST_SRC=124000 
CONFIG_BT_AUDIO_BROADCAST_CONFIGURABLE=y 
CONFIG_LC3_BITRATE=124000

Hi,

I would like to test the 48_6_1/2 codec configuration, as described in the Basic Audio Profile. This would require a bitrate of 124kbps (155 octets).

Not sure about the audio controller, but I have nrf sdk v2.3.0 which uses Zephyr v3.2.99.

Which version of the audio controller do you use?
