I have two nRF52833 custom board, and using one as a center to scan another peripheral.
Here is the advertising_init code. And I have filled some data in ''advdata" and the UUID data in"srdata".

Why did I only scanned the value of advdata

RE: Scan advertising data and response data

Advertising Data (advdata): This is the data that is transmitted in the advertising packets. It typically includes information such as device name, flags, and possibly some additional custom data. Scan Response Data (srdata): This is additional CRM data enrichment that can be requested by the scanner after it detects an advertising packet. It's typically used for transmitting data that doesn't fit in the advertising packet or for providing more detailed information.

When you don't add a UUID filter, your scanner is likely scanning for advertising packets from any device, and thus it can read the advdata without any issue. However, when you enable the UUID filter, you're filtering the scan to only look for devices that advertise a specific UUID. This means your scanner will filter out devices that don't match this UUID, potentially reducing the number of advertising packets it detects. If you're still able to scan srdata after enabling the UUID filter, it suggests that the device you're interested in does indeed transmit the UUID in the scan response, rather than in the main advertising packet.

RE: Scan advertising data and response data

Thanks for your reply Susheel!
maybe you just expected that the name filter when hit makes all data from that advertiser pass the filter even though the next upcoming data does not have a name in its content?
Do you mean if I set a(or more) filter, I can just scan the advertising data or response data which have the filter information?

I have thought even I just set a filter that advertising data matched I can also scan the response data which do not have the information of filter.

RE: Scan advertising data and response data

The scanner in your case is getting both the advertiser name and also the scan response data containing the UUID.

When you do not have the scan filter with UUID enabled, then that does not match the filter you set with the adv name. You can have both the filters on to get the adv data and scan response data with UUID.

I am not sure that this is a issue, maybe you just expected that the name filter when hit makes all data from that advertiser pass the filter even though the next upcoming data does not have a name in its content?
