&lt;p&gt;The official sample that is designed to be a LTE BLE gateway is the &lt;a href="https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/2.4.1/nrf/samples/nrf9160/lte_ble_gateway/README.html#nrf9160-lte-sensor-gateway"&gt;nRF9160: LTE Sensor Gateway&lt;/a&gt;. Note that this sample is designed for the nRF9160DK, however, the h&lt;a href="https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/2.4.1/nrf/samples/bluetooth/hci_lpuart/README.html#bluetooth-hci-low-power-uart"&gt;ci_lpuart (which must be programmed to the nRF52840) should work with the Thingy:91&lt;/a&gt;. The sample will look for Thingy:52 and connect with.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The nRF52840 on the Thingy:91 is was provides USB connectivity (&lt;a href="https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/2.4.1/nrf/applications/connectivity_bridge/README.html#connectivity-bridge"&gt;running the Connectivity Bridge application&lt;/a&gt;), you will need to program the nRF52840 using an external programmer.&lt;/p&gt;
