If I start debugging for fully erased chip it works just fine but if I try to restart debugging it throws an error and I have to fully erase the chip to get things going.

Unfortunately, this is a problematic scenario with the vs code debugger; ie. attaching the debugger without flashing. I will report this internally.

I suspect that you're using secure boot (ie. the immutable bootloader)?

If yes, then you need to erase the device between each flash operation, as it will write to UICR.

As a workaround, you could use Segger Ozone as a debugger and see if this works better for you.

Kind regards,

Håkon
