Hi Marco,
Sorry for that the case taking so long to resolve. I thought that you have tested with other sample and got the same issue. But if the issue was only in your application then it's easier to solve.
If you look at your project you will find a .west folder:

This folder has some predefined configuration for example path or base.
If you remove this ".west" folder and build again, it should work . I did a test here and saw the same issue as you before I remove the folder.

I can build the "hello_world" example.

In my project I cannot click build as I cannot even create a build configuration. Below the screenshots:

How come the SDK can build some projects but not mine which was working fine before the upgrade?

Hi Marco,
I don't think it has anything to do with your application. If you build an sample in the SDK I would assume you will see the same error ?
Could you please take a screenshot when you click build ?
I would need to report this to the team as I run out of idea what could be wrong.
My suggestion is to try uninstalling python and west. And then install SDK again with Toolchain manager.
Another option is to follow the guide to install the SDK manually : https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/nrf/installation/installing.html

I have tried by erasing ncs2\toolchains but the result is the same.

The v2.3.0 version is also installed but I've just realized that even with this SDK I cannot create a build configuration.

And yes, I used nRF Connect terminal as you showed me (I clicked on the + symbol and selected "nRF Connect").

Hi Marco,
I'm not so sure what could be wrong, but it's most likely something to do with the toolchains.
Please make sure you erase the toolchains folder (ncs2\toolchains) when you do a fresh install as well.
Could you try to install v2.3.0 ? There could be some issue with v2.4.0 toolchain.
Please take a screenshot of the window so I know which terminal you were using, did you use the nRF Connect terminal as I showed in my screenshot ?

Could you show the welcome screen in VSCode when you open it ?
Could you try to open VSCode from the Toolchain Manager software ?
The Welcome screen should select the SDK and the toolchain, for example:

This should be in the extension setting:

If you open a nRF Connect terminal, and type west , you should see "build" in the list of commands:

I've created a new folder named "ncs2" and I have tried to install v2.4.1. This time the v2.4.1 folder looks like the one you showed me:

Nevertheless, I still cannot create a build configuration for my project. Which could be the problem for this and why I cannot install v2.4.1 in "ncs" folder?

Hi Marco,
If you install other NCS version do you see anything there ?
We would need to check if it's the problem with only NCS v2.4.1 or it's the issue with all NCS version so it can be that it's the issue with maybe accessing the server from your computer maybe firewall ?

If it is the issue with only NCS v2.4.1 then it could be something wrong on our side.

I have removed the SDK with the Toolchain Manager and I have reinstalled the version 2.4.1. Nevertheless, after the installation the folder is empty:

Hi Marco,
I would do "Remove" in the Toolchain Manager and then click Install again. (make sure the folder is erased after you click Remove)

My suspicious is that it's a corrupted installation.

It should look like this:

If it doesn't my suggestion is to remove the SDK and try install it again with nRF Connect Toolchain manager.

I updated NCS SDK with the graphical interface of nRF Connect. I have also tried by running west update when I realized my project was not capable to be built anymore.

How do I check if I'm pointing the correct SDK folder in VSCode? I have not changed anything after the update.

I also have the following warning in the "Welcome to nRF Connect" tab:

How can I solve this?

Hi Marco,
Could you tell what did you do to update the NCS SDK ? Did you run west update ?

A customer reported similar issue here:
west build is invalid choice

It has something to do with Zephyr base. Have you made sure you pointed to the correct SDK folder in VSCode ?
Please also check if the toolchain folder is correct.
