I am close to getting everything to work. Creating Central UART as a Workspace (instead of Freestanding) worked, but not sure why Freestanding doesn't work. Here is the new case I started if you are interested: devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../compiling-central_uart-won-t-work

RE: Cannot open source file...

It probably wouldn't hurt to upgrade it to the latest version to see if that was for sure the issue or not. If you upgrade to the latest version and the errors come back (you'll see them as soon as you restart VS Code), then you can know for sure. If so, then just downgrade again until there is a fix.

RE: Cannot open source file...

Thanks! I did get it downgraded and by reinstalling everything, a number of times, I got it to the point where blinky, hello world, etc works correctly... Can't get Central_UART to work, but I opened a new case for that as it seems like a different/additional issue

RE: Cannot open source file...

It is a little tricky to setup if you're new to it. Took me a long time to get familiar with everything. Zephyr has a large learning curve.

If you click the gear there's an option to "Install Another Version...". Click that and then choose v2023.2.56 from the list. Once it installs just restart VS Code.

I hope that does it. This has been a nightmare to setup... I'm pretty new at this, but I don't see a way of installing an older version of nrfConnect... It looks like nrfConnect is independent of the the sdk. Or do I need to load an old version of the sdk to get the older nrfConnect?

RE: Cannot open source file...

Hello,

Does it still compile fine? If so, then it may be the nRF Connect for Visual Studio extension causing this. This is an issue that has yet to be resolved. Downgrade the nRF Connect extension to version v2023.2.56 and see if the problem persists.
