After flashing both merged_CPUNET.hex and merged_CPUAPP.hex from the precompiled firmware everything now works. Thanks for the help.

I flashed the merged_CPUNET.hex as directed via nRF5340DK acting as debugger. After disconnecting from nRF5340DK, I reattached a USB cable to the Thingy:53 and turned it off and on. Using Serial Terminal, I could not Select Device as it did not present itself. I made sure that I could use the Serial Terminal by attaching to the nRF5340DK. I made sure that the Thingy:53 was attached to a charger over the weekend. I changed USB Cables to make sure they were not the issue. I could attach to the Thingy:53 Serial Terminal prior to the flash. Any other thoughts?

Could you try to just flash the merged_cpunet,hex located in the hci_rpmsg folder inside the Peripheral_LBS folder?

nrfjprog --recover --coprocessor CP_NETWORK

nrfprog --program merged_cpunet.hex --verify

Tried your commands via Serial Terminal v1.1.1 connected to the Thingy:53. No change.

I used thingy53_nrf5340_cpuapp_ns for the build config. I get the same result with precompiled and newly build firmware.

Hi Joe

I will try to replicate your error. It sounds like only the application core has been programmed and therefor the BLE stack can't be initiated. When you build the project, what build config did you use?

Could you try the following:

nrfjprog --recover
nrfjprog --recover --coprocessor CP_NETWORK
nrfprog  --program merged_domains.hex
nrfjprog --reset
