I'm facing the same issue on iOS.
For the nrf9160 demos they instruct to use

overlay-scan-only.conf

This one probably doesn't allow to connect?

Other overlays give me:

region `RAM' overflowed by 28268 bytes

Thank you very much for your patient assistance. I have resolved the issue.
I have replaced my old PC with a new one and reinstalled NCS v2.4.2. The compiled WiFi shell demo firmware can now successfully connect to WiFi.
So the problem may have been related to issues in my previous development environment, such as missing SDK files.

This looks strange. Have you tried connecting to a different network? If not, I recommend trying that too.

I tried recompiling the shell demo with version 2.4.2, but the same issue occurred. I have confirmed that my SSID and password are correct. The 'Connection request failed' log is returned immediately after I send the connect command, as if it didn't even attempt to establish a connection.

Hello,

I tested this sample under NCS 2.4.2, as it is the latest SDK version, and it is working fine on my side (you can also try updating to NCS 2.4.2). I am able to connect to the network. I don't think this is a hardware issue, as the scanning is working properly on your side. Have you entered the network details properly?
