For one project I have these overlay files:

&lt;p&gt;Is this happening in SDK samples or in your own application? If it happens in samples, which ones?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Did you create the overlay files before or after creating the build configuration? If you create the overlay files after, it might be that they are not picked up by VS Code when you rebuild the project. In that case, and when making devicetree changes in general, I recommend deleting the build configuration/directory completely and creating a new one.&lt;/p&gt;
