I am messing around with connectionless BLE AOA CTE transmission using NCS 2.4. My setup includes the Siliconlabs BRD4191A which is a 4x4 BLE AOA/AOD dual polarized direction finding antenna array as the receiver. And an NRF52833 device

RE: BLE AOA CTE on AUX_ADV_IND instead of AUX_SYNC_IND

Hi,

I need to implement CTE only in BLE pakkets for nRF54L15. I have already seen some examples for nRF53 but never for nRF54 boards... I really want to get to a solution soon, because i need this to work quickly.

Yes i really would like to implement CTE in my bluetooth pakkets using the nRF54L15. I saw some examples in the git repositry of nrf-sdk for nRF53, but no examples for nRF54L15 and i really need to implement this for my master thesis.

I'm wondering if you were ever able to get anywhere with this. I'm interested in the same thing. I've also learned that some tag vendors have inserted the CTE as payload inside ADV_IND packets. I would like to know how to get starting modifying things so that I/Q samples can be taken in this case.

Synchronization is not an option for us due to the high number of tags in the area at once.

As mentioned, Silabs and others are already appending the CTE to the regular advertising packet on channel 37, 38, 39 and there is a clear use case for higher-bandwidth (tags per second) applications so it is disappointing to see the lack of support from Nordic.
Is this something that can be done?
Yes, and there are customers doing this. Though as it is against the spec we do not have a lot support available for it. You are essentially a bit on your own doing that.

Though as the zephyr controller is open source there are no limits to what you should be able to do.

Regards,
