As you pointed out, I moved the sample and shortened the path and the build was successful.

I do not have a windows computer to test on at the moment, but I wonder if the issue here could be releated to path lenghs, as Windows is restrivtive about that. Can you try to copy out the sample from my colleagues repo you have under "C:/ncs/nrf5340/samples_for_nrf_connect_sdk/bootloader_samples/serial_recovery/mcuboot_serial_recovery_uart/" so that the path gets shorter, perhaps to "C:/ncs/my_samples/mcuboot_serial_recovery_uart/" or similar and see if that helps?

Hi Einar,

The build steps I followed are below.

Get a sample.
1. git clone github.com/.../samples_for_nrf_connect_sdk.git
Open the sample in VSCode's nRF Connect.
1. [Open an existing application] in [WELCOM]
2. C:\ncs\nrf5340\samples_for_nrf_connect_sdk\bootloader_samples\serial_recovery\mcuboot_serial_recovery_uar
Build with nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp.
1. [Add Build Configuration] of [mcuboot_serial_recovery_uart] in [APPLICATION]
2. Board: nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp
3. Configuration: Use build system default
I get a build error.

The build log is attached below.

Hi,

I am able to build the unofficial MCUBoot Serial Recovery over UART Sample for nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp with NCS 2.3.0 out of the box. Can you elaborate on how you are building and share the build log where it fails?

(If you also want serial recovery on the net core you can refer to MCUboot netcore serial recovery. for that part.)
