I'm trying the simplest example; just blinking an LED on a nRF52840-DK. I've installed Visual Studio Code and nRF Connect. I used the example "blinky" and am trying to get it to work. The first hurdle I got over is the git configuration stuff

RE: Visual Studio Code and nRF Connect issue: The --family option given with the command does not match the device connected.

Hi,

This sounds strange,

The error message regarding readback protection is expected as newer revisions of the nRF52840 has readback protection enabled by default. However, the nRF Command Line Tools should recognize the device automatically. Can you go through the steps in this list and see if any of them resolves your issue?

Step 4 and 7 is not relevant for your board, so you can omit them.

Also make sure that the device is connected directly to the computer .

regards
