It is not designed to, no. But it should be possible to make a "mirrored" version of the application where the nRF52 is the receiver of the image. Since both applications are open-source they should work fine as a point of reference.

Quick question, Simon, can the BLE image transfer demo do the exact opposite? I am planning to send image from phone to the nRF52. Thank you by the way for answering my question. I will also look into the guide you have sent so I may study them.

Yes, the object transfer service should be usable to transfer images. You could also check out the BLE image transfer demo made by my colleague Torbjørn, which is designed to transmit images from a camera on an nRF52 to a phone app. The Android app can be found here as well.
