Yes by scratch I mean by starting with a simple relevant nRF Connect SDK example and then modify that example so that it does the same as your previous project. That would be much better than trying to port your old project to the newest SDK.

Hi, then for you is better make "new project" from scratch?
But another way could be to use a "sample code" (for example MQTT simple) and then import the needed functions/files?

I'm sorry for the bad news, but I truly think that this is the best approach. Several concepts such as pinctrl has been introduced since v1.2.0. It's very much a better approach and less time consuming to start with a new tag instead of trying to port your old project to a newer tag.

this is very uncomfortable ... then there is no chance for you adjust the project and make it working?
If possible for you help me, I need to save time to make this old project working ...
Or there is a way to have the old release 1.2.0?

Hi,

nRF Connect SDK v1.2.0 is very outdated at this point. The SDK has changed a lot since this was released, and I wouldn't expect a project built on that SDK to build successfully with a current updated one. Instead, I would just remake the project in the current SDK instead of trying to merge it. That is probably the easiest approach.

Does the error persist if you perform a pristine build with a fresh build configuration for nrf9160dk_nrf9160_ns?

Would you mind showing the errors? It could be a case of old function calls needing to be updated, etc.
