So for the OTA functionality there will need to be some changes. The way these updates is done differ from the two SDK's. For the nRF Connect SDK you can have a look at the device manager sample here: https://github.com/NordicSemiconductor/Android-nRF-Connect-Device-Manager

But for other things as long ash all the characteristic and such is configured the same why then the mobile app does not know the difference.

So you are saying like if the FW gets switched from nRF5 SDK to nRFConnect SDK it would not hamper the custom mobile app we have developed and can be used as is?

If the application on the nRF is configured the same way as the nRF5 SDK application then there would not need to be any changes on the mobile app side. So it should work the same.

I have gone through the link and the bottom-line is nordic is not supporting such kind of migration.

So, we have inhouse mobile app using which we perform the OTA process. And the same app is used for performing OTA on line of products. So if we start the new product development with nRFConnect SDK would the app perform is same way as it has for nRF5 SDK or there are some changes expected in mobile app APIs also as we are changing the SDK?
