I want to create USB device that communicates with pc.
But when I use COMs it doesn't work properly. CURA Slicer opens this COM and blocks it for other programs. And connecting device via COM seems kinda sketchy

RE: NRF52840 non COM USB comnication with pc.

Hi

It is technically possible to configure the nRF52840 as a simple libusb/winusb device, allowing you to interface it from the PC without using the CDC class, but I would strongly advice against it.

We have no examples showing you how to do this, so you would most likely have to spend a lot of time to get it working.

Internally we use the CDC class for a lot of different applications (bootloaders, the nRF Sniffer, nRF for Desktop Bluetooth application ++) and have good experiences with it.

I would recommend trying to figure out why your CURA Slicer software is opening comports automatically instead, so that you can use CDC on the nRF52840 without problems. I found a forum thread that discusses this, and provides some advice:
https://community.ultimaker.com/topic/32847-com-port-connection/

Best regards
Torbjørn
