I'm working on implementing FOTA (Firmware Over-the-Air) updates for a Thingy 91 device. Specifically, I want to transition from connecting to the NRF Cloud to using the LwM2M Coiote server.
Manually flashing the firmware with a J

RE: FOTA of Thingy 91 does not take effect after uploading

Hi,

As wisph said, does the new application run once, but on the next reboot it reverts back to the old application?

Or does the new application simply never run?

Are you using the default bootloader on the Thingy:91?

If you have overwritten the default bootloader, you can try to add a static flash partitioning file to ensure that the flash partitions doesn't change between the builds.

See the documentation for more information:

https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/2.4.0/nrf/scripts/partition_manager/partition_manager.html#static-configuration

Best regards,

First order of business would be to make sure the OTA update is installed AND RETAINED.

The last part is what cought me once, the ota installs, boots and reports happiness.. Tho on the first next boot, the image got reverted.
Turned out; the image_confirmed bit did not get written to the correct place, in our case this was because: we changed SDK & changed filesystem configuration.

Hope it helps.
