Hi,

The dependency comes from WPA supplicant crypto relying on nRF security framework, please try with https://github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-nrf/pull/12953 to use builtin MbedTLS.

Hello Amanda:

I understand that part. Is there an process for enabling WPA_SUPP for a host that is not the nRF5340, etc?

Why is there a dependecy on CONFIG_SOC_FAMILY_NRF? I wouldl think for a companion IC on an Arduino module, it should be possible to run on other SOCs.

Hi,

CONFIG_WPA_SUPP specifies the inclusion of the WPA supplicant module. Disabling this flag restricts the nRF70 Series driver’s functionality to STA scan only.

1.) Yes, I know about the form fact as that is why I selected it. I have it connected right now. Per the description above, SPI communication is OK to the NRF7002

2.) My West manifest references the main branch:

As of the last time I did a west update (two days ago), main was pointing to commit 87bdbc783

I mentioned above that I tested with an unmodified sample. I tested the nRF7002-EK with the NRF5340. I then switch to the board. I get a build error from CONFIG_WPA_SUP=y as it expected a nordic processor family. I was able to get it to build by setting CONFIG_WPA_SUP=n.

As shown in the .gif, I can scan for networks. h owever, I think I need WPA_SUP to connect and deal with wifi credentials, etc. I would like to understand CONFIG_WPA_SUP and to make it work. Since this is a companion IC, I would expect that it shoudd work with any Zephyr SOC that has been ported with appropriate SPI connections

Hi,

1. The nRF7002 EK features an Arduino shield form factor and interface connector that allows it to be used with Arduino compatible boards, such as the nRF52840 DK, nRF5340 DK, or nRF9160 DK.

2. Which NCS are you using? Could you test with the unmodified sample?
