alright, I've checked with some our developers and I was incorrect in stating that the J-link was used to communicate with the nRF52840 as it use DFU over serial. The J-link is most likely used for device listing in nRF Connect for desktop.

Using USB CDC simple serial endpoint could eliminate the need for that.

One thing I've noticed that nRF Connect Desktop doesn't show up in app list when I update Jlink,

Jlink asks me which app's DLLs to update, so compatibility with old ones can be kept.

But the DLL that nRF uses

is not listed there.

J-link DLL is needed for nRF Connect Desktop to "communicate" with the PPK2 as nRF Connect Desktop use nRF Command Line Tools which again use J-Link to communicate with onboard Nordic SoC,

So why is there a dependency on Jlink DLL? Isn't Nordic chip capable sending data on its own?

Excellent HW schematics by the way! Clever range switching and calibration.

Hi.

nRF Connect Desktop should install the necessary drivers that is needed to use PPK2,

Can you turn on Verbose logging in the "About" section in the power profiler app and share the log that is printed when you try to start the PPK2,

Also, another user reported similar issue here, a simple restart of the computer solved their issue.

latest of all I think

I tried a 2nd USB cable, same thing, but if DFU shows up it means connection is valid.

Unfortunately I don't have access to second PC right now.

Where can I download the latest driver for PPK USB?

Hi there,

Which version of nRF Connect Desktop, Power Profiler app and Windows OS are you using?
I know this sounds trivial, but can you try to switch USB cable and see if it that solves your issue?
If that didn't work, do you have access to another computer? Just to verify whether the issue is nRF Connect Desktop installation or the PPK2 itself, can you try connecting the PPK2 to another computer?

Missing driver? HW seems fine since DFU shows up over same usb cable.
