After some exercises with our modems by other group engineers we have another problem now.

Application nRF Connect for Desktop (v5.0.2) cannot detect our nRF9160 Development Kit.

Quick Start can't detect it:

In logs I can see this info:

Programmer does not recognize device as nRF9160 DK:

And I can't flash:

Would You be so kind as to suggest what can be done in our situation?

Ah, I am sorry then, thought that it was compiled on your computer.

Sorry, many different cases and it's easy to get confused sometimes.

Those are some weird issues. I would have thought about hardware issue, but now you have tested it on two DKs at least...

Could you test it on another computer? At least connecting to the serial port. If you are using USB hub by chance, maybe try to connect it directly.

I have another modem nRF9160 DK which was configured via Programmer and modem works with Tera Term terminal. Only LTE Link Monitor is not functioning. Firmware 1.3.5.

May be something else is needed to make it run?

Hi Michal.

I tried to re-flash our modem via Cellular Monitor and results (of installation only) were successful.

I installed first Asset Tracker v2:

Then I installed Modem Shell:

I was able to connect to modem with Tera Term, but modem did not function:

Then I made switch off/on manually. After that result was the same.

Then I installed Serial LTE modem:

After that I lost connectivity to modem:

I did not react anymore on resets or switch OFF/ONs.

Any suggestions?

Just thought that it is a good way to check your compiled MoSH binary may have been malformed in some way.

I received modem that we sent to client and tried to upgrade firmware to 1.3.5 version.

I upgraded it, installed application SW, but when I tried to connect to modem via Tera Term VT terminal, I failed. The only response I was able to receive was this (when I physically switched off/on modem):

If anything can be done in this case or modem is faulty?

I met in Internet results of PING testing nRF9160 DK in India.

They run ping directly via AT commands. In nRF9169 DK AT COMMANDS pdf I was not able to find AT PING command.

But, according to below screenshot Indian colleagues pinged Google with AT command successfully:

Due to the low resolution of the image, I can't make out the command.

Was it ">AT%PING="www.google.com",45,5000,5,1000"?

Should ">AT%PING=xxx " work? In case if I do not want to make it via Modem Shell?

They just have to add CONFIG_NRF_MODEM_LIB_TRACE=y to their prj.conf file.

Also, if they flash the Modem Shell sample from Cellular Monitor then it should have traces enabled by default as well.

Customer upgraded modem firmware from FW version mfw_nr9160_1.2.7

to version mfw_nrf9160_1.3.5

And after this FW upgrade pings to APN internet run successfully:

Hi Michal. I requested from our Customer raw/binary modem traces but they do not respond. We sent them our modem that we used for tests in ou Lab. Hope they will collect logs during tests with our modem.
