When using an NRF 9160 DK to program our external board we are able to perform an modem update via the nrf programmer by just dragging the zip file onto the programmer and hit write.
However when we use the NRF 5340 DK and connect it via

RE: Modem update external 9160 via debug out on 5340 DK

Hey Øyvind,

Worked just fine over the command line, Thanks for the help!

RE: Modem update external 9160 via debug out on 5340 DK

Yes, please have a go and test, and then let me know how that works.

Have a great weekend.

Kind regards,
Øyvind

RE: Modem update external 9160 via debug out on 5340 DK

Hey Øyvind,

Didn't know the command line could be used to update the modem but makes sense. We don't have a hardware review from nordic but it was designed by a design house which specializes in RF so cant imagine it being a pathing and tracing issue.

The 3.3v VDD is sensed by the VTG pin on the p20 header and debug/flash operations over SWD work great, just the modem FWU button is greyed out.

Edit: Furthermore when using an NRF9160 DK and connect to our board in exact the same way the modem firmware on our device can be upgraded without issue's
