I'm interested in using the nPM1300 with a non-rechargeable (primary) battery chemistry, specifically Lithium Thionyl Chloride (LiSoCl2), which has a nominal battery voltage of 3.67V.
I've looked through the documentation but don't see any mention

RE: nPM1300 with non-rechargeable (primary) battery

Thanks Jared,

This is what I expected, it all makes sense.

LiSoCl2 is not part of the types of batteries that we officially support. That means that we haven't tested it and thus can't guarantee that it will work. But, generally as long as the battery is within the operating region as specified in the nPM1300 product spec it should work. I'm a bit skeptical about the non rechargeable part, but you should make sure that the host software does not write to BCHGENABLESET enabling charging. If appropriate battery model is given, then I don't see any reason for fuel gauge to not work.

regards
Jared
