&lt;p&gt;The problem is fixed. I used &amp;#39;sysbuild&amp;#39; in my application.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The root cause is the device tree precedence. I defined the \boards\nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp.overlay first, then defined the ipc and the reserved-memory in an application overlay.&lt;br /&gt;The build system will stop when it finds a board overlay, so the application overlay was ignored in this situation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I pasted the description below:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;After I moved the ipc and the reserved-memory definition to the board overlay, it was fixed.&lt;br /&gt;BTW, where can I find the &amp;#39;Partition Manager&amp;#39; if I use a multi-image build?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Are you able to provide a minimal version of your project for me to debug on my end? Note that the memory partitions are controlled by the Partition Manager if you are performing a multi-image build. The devictree partitions are then ignored.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
