I really don't have an update to this.

I've forwarded the feedback to our developers. Maybe they will try to fix this in a future release.

Is there any update to this? It is horrible in this day and age, we need to be forced to use specific folders rather than folders of our choosing...

Thanks for the reply. I didn't find this in the documentation, please could you point me to where this is stated?

If it's not possible to change, it might be nice to have this mentioned in the UI and take the button out entirely.

I can likely put a symlink in there as a workaround, so long as it's tolerant of that.

Hi.

From the documentation:
On macOS, the install directory is `/opt/nordic/ncs`, and no other directory can be used.
This is because of a requirement from Python and the dynamic loader to have a deterministic path for the toolchain.

You are free to experiment on a way to solve this, but as far as I know there is no workaround for this, unfortunately.
