There is no straight forward approach to AWS with LwM2M to push the data to cloud. We need to develop a custom gateway to get the data from nrf9160 and push to the AWS cloud. Its going to be time consuming process and our time to market will be delayed

RE: NB-IOT communication with AWS

From your first comment:

> Since we are using Jio SIM for NB-IOT and there is a restriction of max 500 bytes we can push to Jiocloud for every 15 min interval. There Jio supports MQTT end point.

From this comment:

> NB-IoT - 5 minutes - 1 MB (I guess, that's pictures).

I don't get it.

If your Jio SIm and Jiocloud limits you and prevents you from reaching your requirements, then I guess you need to reconsider these decision or the requirements.

For "1 MB every 5 Minutes" NB-IoT will be a choice, which will tend to cause pain. It's just not for such use-cases. In my experience, LTE-M will do a better job with that. But also there, please check the costs, that this will cause. And the energy and so on.

RE: NB-IOT communication with AWS

IPV6 should work for nRf9160.

RE: NB-IOT communication with AWS

Hi

In our scenario, we are working with Jio SIM provider where we don't have a choice. we need to go with Jiocloud instead of nrfcloud. Here my question is whether nrf9160DK support ipv6? We need data every 5 min about 1 MB to push to the cloud.

Please suggest here

RE: NB-IOT communication with AWS

Just in the case, you're interested in running your own "self-service" cloud-service (based on open source), you may check Eclipse/Californium - CoAP-S3-Proxy . It still under development, but using it for now more than a year shows, that this works pretty well. It comes with DTLS 1.2 CID, including the DTLS 1.2 graceful restart. It fits best, if the time requirement for data consumption is rather relaxed (means in seconds not milliseconds), but very simple, very robust, and quite inexpensive.

RE: NB-IOT communication with AWS

Hello,

I have feedback from the team:

If you do not specifically need LwM2M, the nRF Cloud CoAP is one option to push data with low overhead to clouds. First to nRF Cloud and from there get it anywhere you need it.

RE: NB-IOT communication with AWS

Ok Thank y you

RE: NB-IOT communication with AWS

Hello,
