No, the nRF52 is always battery powered. Many NFC devices use the field from the NFC reader as the sole energy source, but that applies to products that are NFC tags and nothing else. For simplicity this is not a feature of nRF52.

may I ask a related question? during NFC communication, doesn't the power for nrf52 chip come from external reader? in other words, there should be no current draw from nrf52's internal power supply. Is that correct?

First of all, you should not write to the NFCT registers in the callback; all the hardware control is done by the library.

Do you know what revision of the IC you have, or which kit you are using (preview kit or kit from Global Tech Tour)?

Hi, have you found a solution for this? I've been trying to investigate this, and I'm not really sure what causes this. I get the same current increase here.
