@Jel: You may have to make your own serialization library for mbed.

Another option is to use our nRF8001 which is a connectivity chip instead of the nRF51. Redbearlab has made their library for mbed to use their BLE Shield v2.1 (base on nRF8001). You can have a look here.

Mbed would be running on the application board. I do not care what is on the connectivity board

I am afraid that we don't have anything like that for mbed yet.

Could you describe a little bit more on which side (of that setup) you want use mbed on (or both ? )

I would assume that you have to implement them on your own. A post on mbed forum wouldn't hurt also.
