It has to be related to my JLink RTT viewer application
I don't see this if I use VS Code with the nRF extension

Still occurs in the latest JLink 7.94e

I listed my kconfig options above

I noticed this started to happen when I switched to SDK 2.5

I'll try revert back to 2.2 and will let you know if the problem goes away

Not seen reports of something similar before, I can only suggest to try other samples and see if you see the same, and possible try different kconfig options. Also possible try to update nRF Comment line tools (including j-link driver from segger).

Edit: I can see you have made a case afterwards where it doesn't seem you experience this anymore, were you able to resolve this?
