&lt;p&gt;I believe this needs to be&amp;nbsp;addressed&amp;nbsp;in zephyr&amp;#39;s asan implementation to work, regardless of gcc / clang as the compiler. I would recommend that you ask in the zephyr community.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Zephyr has support for ASAN (&lt;a href="https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/zephyr/boards/posix/native_sim/doc/index.html#address-sanitizer-asan"&gt;https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/zephyr/boards/posix/native_sim/doc/index.html#address-sanitizer-asan&lt;/a&gt;), which uses sanitize=address.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;=thread&amp;nbsp;produces linker/compiler issues (and requires 64 bit build target, it seems).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;sanitize=thread is listed as a beta feature in the llvm suite, and I would recommend that you ask in zephyr&amp;#39;s channels about this feature.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
