Which application are you running, Asset Tracker v2? Could you please try Cellular Monitor as LTE Monitor has been deprecated?

You will need to have a supported network in order to connect.

You will need an NB-IoT or LTE-M enabled SIM and you need to be in a region with either NB-IoT or LTE-M coverage.

If you are running for example Serial LTE Monitor or Asset Tracker v2 you will not have to make any changes to the firmware. You will have to make sure the device is configured to support NB-IoT and/or LTE-M using %XSYSTEMMODE.

To do a search for networks in your area you can use +COPS=?

Hey Charlie,

I ended up finding the right repo & finished the softsim setup however when I open the minicom nrf isn't sending any data to the terminal, no error messages either.
I tried resetting the nrf board so I went back to nrfsdk programmer & uploaded the firmware again with the physical sim card, to test out basic functionality of the board. However, the board is not getting registered in nrfcloud.

In the Link monitor the UIIC is also off.

I'm using iBasis sim card for this setup.
Also, my region is India and I know we don't have LTE-M or NB-IOT support yet but I was thinking I should atleast be able to add the board in the nrfcloud without LTE-M or NB-IOT coverage?
I'm getting the LED1 blink as of now so its just searching for LTE network. What if I just use another sim card that has LTE network? What changes do I have to make in the firmware for this?

Which guide are you referring to? I only found the following one but it doesn't mention this repository so I guess you are referring to an old one.
