same here, its very inconsistent and not reliable. on paper this device is exactly what we need, but because it doesnt actually work its useless

I think we really need a fix for this. It's stopping me from doing any long term power testing. Very disappointing to have it stop after 1 or 2 hours.

I have this same problem. I have been able to get the PPK to stay connected on Linux now with nRF Desktop 4.4.1 and Power Profiler v3.5.4 (and whatever firmware this version flashed into the PPK). I couldn't figure out a way to download a 3.x version of nRF Desktop as suggested elsewhere, but this version worked for me.

I'm able to get a stable logging session with an old version (PPK 3.3.0 running with nrfConnect 3.9.1) on both Linux and Windows. I'm not sure how to install that on Mac, but please check out the post I wrote earlier for how I did it on Linux

We are aware of this issue on Linux and Mac machines. In the meantime, we recommend using Windows as a temporary solution. Unfortunately, we do not have a proper solution or workaround for this issue at the moment.

Same problem here (on MacOS). I am new to the PPK2 (I've had it for about a month). But it always disconnects after a few hours. It's impossible to do long-run meassurements

Same problem here!

In my case, it autodisconnects after many hours (about 5-6hrs, my best was after 15hrs) on Ubuntu 22.04. I also disabled USB autosospend with no success.

The same combination of nrfConnect and PPK versions also works for me. It's definitely an issue in the latest firmware / software.

I am really sorry for the inconvenience caused by this issue. I haven't heard any good responses from the team. I have poked them again now. Just another piece of info if it helps: I managed to get the PPK 3.3.0 running with nrfConnect 3.9.1. Once PPK 3.3.0 runs, it programs the PPK2 with an older firmware. After that, all 3 of my PPK2 run perfectly without any disconnect for days. So I'm 100% sure it's the firmware inside the PPK that causes the disconnect.

Now to Install the PPK3.3.0, I had to run the latest nrfConnect (I was using nrfConnect 4.3.6) to install the PPK 3.3.0 into the PC first. Then I run the nrfConnect 3.9.1, and would see the PPK 3.3.0 and able to run it.

I disabled selective suspend on linux by using this command and rebooting, and the PPK2 still disconnects after ~3.5 hours:

I am having the same issue. I am running nrfconnect-4.4.1 on Pop OS 22.04 (Linux) and Power Profiler 4.0.0 with a PPK2 V1.0.1 dated 2021.25. When looking at the output of dmesg, it looks like the PPK2 hardware disconnects and then reconnects from the USB bus. It looks like a firmware issue on the PPK2 hardware to me.

On Windows, disable USB selective suspend in the power settings to prevent the operating system from selectively suspending USB devices to save power. This can sometimes cause intermittent disconnections. bitlife

Another PPK2, which has a similar sticker but with 2021.25 number, also experiences same disconnection problem with latest software. It runs on a different Linux machine. A co-worker of mine also uses a PPK on a Windows machine, and his PPK also has similar behavior. So that's 3 PPK2 that I know of that have this problem. I suspect the firmware in the PPK crashes and causes the disconnection. Is there any pin on the hardware we can monitor to debug?

I'm not able to find nrfjprog in my Linux box. I'm running the nrfConnect-4.3.0-x86_64.appImage from command line directly (no install that I can see)

I removed the JLink 7.94 and installed the JLink 7.88j so that PowerProfiler software does not complain about different version number, but the disconnection still happens at around 1 hour 32 minutes (pretty consistent for some reasons). I tried sampling frequency of 10Hz, 100Hz, and of 1000Hz. They all disconnect after about 1 hour 32 mins to 1 hour 40 mins. They don't disconnect if I don't start the data logging
