Sorry, I have it at home and am abroad now but I took the other DK with me and ordered them together the serial number is almost identical so my guess is they belong to the same batch. The one I have with me is 3.0.2

Which version of DK you are using? You can find it printed on the white sticker.

The voltage is the same for all my nRF52840 boards: the USB port from my computer around 3V
And no, I never saw any kind of disk/partition called Bootloader.
Before it stopped working, connecting the DK to my Mac or PC made a disk called J-Link appear.
This just disappeared without warning for that specific DK (that's when I got the message that one should not disconnect a disk without ejecting it first).

And I can't drag/drop anything since I don't see the board, therefore I can't reprogram the JLINK firmware. If the board is not seen at all, my guess is it's impossible to reprogram it... since there is no target to the DK or comm to the DK.
To reprogram the JLInk you need a way to talk to the board, right?

How have you supplied the voltage on the kit? It should be around 2.8V to 3.3V.

Did you drag and drop the nRF52840 DK - Downloads - nordicsemi.com J-LINK interface firmware onto the storage device to reprogram the JLINK firmware?
