First of all, I have used the sdk as follows:

nrf5_SDK_for_Mesh_v5.0.0-src.zip.

Therefore, do you have any example of using the sdk to do a heartbeat function?

Besides, I already set up the server and client light example, but I don't still get any heartbeat. I wonder why?

Hi,

Did you get a resolution for the issue? In general, all new projects should use nRF Connect SDK, and not the older now-in-maintenance-mode nRF5 SDK for Mesh.

Hi Sheng-Hua,

I am sorry, but as I am very new to Bluetooth Mesh and Nordic microcontrollers I can not really say much.

I had the same issue but it is working for me. However I am not using the nrf Mesh SDK but the nrf Connect SDK. Normally you don’t have to add the function heartbeat_send() function to see the heartbeat messages in the nrf Mesh App. But I can only say that for implementation made with the nrf Connect SDK. You could try setting up server and client light example from nrf Connect SDK and try out heartbeat functionally…

Dear Toni:

Sorry for late response.
After setting the hearbeat subscription for the server with unicast address:0x0098 and publish for client with unicast address: 0x0095,we don't receive the message in the nrf mesh app.
Then we tried to set the subcribe period to 2h:16 min as below and the server nodes still got no heartbeat response for the client nodes.

Is it neccessary to add the heartbeat_send() to enable heartbeat function in the light switch client?
How do we the function heartbeat_send() in the heartbeat.c or any suggestion for us?

do you receive the messages in the nrf mesh app?
Maybe your subscription period is too low (in your setup the DK will listen for only 1 second on heartbeat messages). You could try setting the subscription period to a little higher value like for example 34 min 8 sec. Maybe you will see some messages. You can also click on refresh inside the to see if there are some messages.

Where we can find the sample codes for heartbeat message transmition? Thanks your help.

Hi,

It looks like all the screenshots show subscription, and no screenshot shows publication. In order for a node to send heartbeats, you should configure heartbeat publication, and make sure the count parameter for the publication is non-zero.
