I am not certain what specifically you are pointing towards.

If this is related to using HCI DTM, this is unfortunately not supported in the SoftDevice Controller.

Did you check the former link by using the timeslot API for such a implementation?

Thanks for the response - I missed it last week!
I asked the question on the zephyr discord channel, and a member ( I believe nordic employee) suggested that we can use zephyr/samples/bluetooth/hci_uart (which provides a passthrough) to zephyr/samples/bluetooth/hci_rpmsg.
Its seems reasonable, but so far I have not had success with my hardware. I intend to use a nordic 5340 devboard to see if I have any more luck.

Unfortunately, this is not a scenario that is implemented in the SDK, but it is technically possible. See this thread for more information on the matter:
