Sorry, this screenshot was taken by me using code from version 2.5.0 of the SDK. The code snippet is the result obtained using version 2.4.2 of the SDK. I tried the SDK code for versions 2.4.2 and 2.5.0 twice, in each experiment, I used the same SDK for both the transmitter and receiver, but the results showed the same error, one at line 330 and the other at line 338(hci_core.c), but the corresponding code stopped running at the same position.

I think my previous description of the problem I encountered was not detailed enough, so I have created a new problem.(+) direction_finding_connectionless Tx&Rx((nrf5340dk)):ASSERTION FAIL [err == 0] @ WEST_TOPDIR/zephyr/subsys/bluetooth/host/hci_core.c:338 - Nordic Q&A - Nordic DevZone - Nordic DevZone (nordicsemi.com) If possible, could you provide me with some help after reading the description on this webpage? I have tested unmodified nrf samples connectionless beacon and connectionless locator in NCS v2.4.0. Here are the logs:

In your last reply I see Zephyr OS build v3.3.99-ncs1-1, but previously there was NCS v2.5.0 in your logs. Could it be that you used mixed NCS versions?

I am adding an external antenna matrix at the sending end, while only using the built-in PCB antenna on the board at the receiving end. I would like to ask if the error I encountered is due to the incorrect cable I used when connecting the external antenna matrix at the sending end?Can I eliminate this error if I use SWF cable instead of UFL cable？

Hi,

AoD uses the antenna array to direct the transmitted signal in a given angle. The receiver in AoD does not need an antenna array, but the radio must still be able to append or sample the Constant Tone Extension as described in CTE.

Regarding the screenshots/images that you sent previously but which cannot be read properly, you could save them separately, group them, make a zip file, and send zip file to us by clicking on Insert-> Image/video/file -> Upload.

I have been trying to solve this problem for several days. I found in the community that someone had encountered the same problem as me a few months ago. I carefully watched their problem solving process. This is the link to that problem:：(+) I cannot get AOA data in ncs2.4.0 sample: direction_finding_connectionless_rx - Nordic Q&A - Nordic DevZone - Nordic DevZone (nordicsemi.com)

Finally, Elfving did an experiment, saying that it was because we did not use the SWF cable, but I only saw successful examples:

1.I don't know did Elfving encounter my problem when he only used the PCB antenna of two boards instead of using the SWF cable to connnect a antenna matrix?I sought his help, but he hasn't replied yet.This is the issue I encountered at the receiving end of AOD mode.

2.If I use AOD mode, do I only need to connect the antenna array with SWF cable at the trasmitting end, and the receiving end only needs to use PCB antenna to create synchronization, and then the receiving end can access CTE data?

Configuration of CTE data transmission and reception in low-power Bluetooth AOD mode using nrf5340dk

I want to use nfr5340-dk to achieve the transmission and reception of CTE data in low-power Bluetooth AOD mode. I imported the code for wireless transmission and reception in the SDK and configured it according to the example provided on the official website, but I did not successfully receive CTE data. It may be due to some errors in the configuration process. Could you please help me check which step went wrong? During this transmission and reception process, I used two NFR5340-DKs, which come with a built-in Bluetooth antenna.I added an antenna matrix using 4 antennas and configured ant_patterns based on the design of the antenna matrix.The antenna matrix is connected with four GPIOs on nrf5340dk to control antenna switching using DuPont Line.However, after following the configuration steps provided on the official website, I did not receive CTE data.

I tried the connection example (Direction finding central/peripheral) and used the same configuration as before. It did connect successfully and received CTE data.

Here is my configuration process.

Bluetooth: Direction finding connectionless beacon

I didn't make any additional configurations, I just chose nrf5340dk as the development board

Bluetooth: Direction finding connectionless locator

1.To build this sample with AoD mode only, set OVERLAY_CONFIG to the overlay-aod.conf file.

2.To build this sample for nRF5340 DK, with AoD mode only, add content of overlay-aod.conf file to child_image/hci_ipc.conf file.

3.Result：Configured to only use AOD mode.

Obviously, it did not receive the CTE data sent by the sender.
