I also faced same issue.

I followed below steps, and it got resolved:

1. Delete vx.y.z folder manually

2. Close and re-open Visual Studio Code

3. Retry SDK installation. In visual studio, nRF Connect -> Manage SDKs -> Install SDK

I tried vpn point to German, America, Singapo and UK. But vpn is illegal in China.

I'm investigating what other FAE's in China are doing to download it, I know there is a way in the work but it is not online yet. Where did your VPN point to? Edit: Might be wise to investigate if the use of VPN is legal or at least use an approved vpn

I see, but it also has the same issue when I tried to install by VPN last night. Is there any other way for install? Our region is in ShenZhen city in China. Many thanks.

Hi Tom

We sometimes get reports regarding trouble to download NCS. The issue is normally that the connection to github is slow at times and the operation times out. I would recommend to try again. It might also help if you are using an VPN to access github
